Introduction

This statement describes what happens when you browse the site or interact in the comments section. You can make the appropriate decision based on your own needs and the legal regulatory requirements of your country.

General

The comment area is not the main feature of this website. Your browsing experience will not be affected if you opt-out comment interactions. This website uses Vercel Analytics, a cookieless technology for basic maintenance. Consequently, as a viewer, you do not need to agree or deny the cookie request from the website since it doesn't exist.

However, you may feel uncomfortable as this website uses third party JavaScript codes, your browser fingerprint (IP country, browser UA, etc.) could also be exposed. The following list describes all third-party connections that this site is relying on for working properly:

Third party JS/CSS libraries like bootstrap and jQuery that the site is relying on for being operational:

  • JavaScript script from jsDelivr (cdn.jsdelivr.net)
  • JavaScript script from Cloudflare (cdnjs.cloudflare.com)

The origin of these third party codes may vary depending on your location. No data including your data will be transmitted to outside addresses.

The following origins are used to provide static files:

  • Images delivered by Cloudflare CDN from V2EX (i.v2ex.co)

Cookieless analytic service as mentioned above is used for website maintenance:

  • Vercel Analytics (US)

Your personal information or privacy will not be disclosed, but if you are located within the European Union and are uncomfortable with your browser fingerprint being exposed, please stop visiting this website and close the connection.

At no time will your data be transferred or stored to unrelated places not mentioned above, such as mainland China.

Usage agreement for the comment zone

This section is about the data processing of comments.

Warning: the operational service of comment areas across this site relies on cookies. Your data will be transferred to the MongoDB database hosted on Vercel. This process is hard to comply with the GDPR. Therefore, if you are a resident within the EU, you should understand this situation before opting-in any decision related to the comment areas.

If you participate in comments, this means that you have fully read this statement and acknowledge the website to provide you the service, even though this service is not compliant to GDPR requirements.

The following paragraphs describe what will happen once you leave a comment, with a presumption that you agree our services:

After you post a comment, your data (browser fingerprint, comment content, email, nickname, website link, etc.) will be transmitted to the a server of Vercel. A hosted serverless function running the Twikoo engine will handle it and the data will be stored in the MongoDB database also hosted within Vercel.

While there is no guarantee that this process will be processed entirely within the EU, you can trust that your data will not be transferred to irrelevant places such as mainland China.

We strictly ensure the data simplicity required by GDPR, that is, the email address or URL left in your comment is only used for comment area interaction or for reminding you discussion updates (Please note that none of these functions are available yet). They will not be used for any purpose not listed in the preceding paragraph.

Because the comment notification has not yet been implemented, this website is temporarily unable to provide comment notification content.

This site uses Akismet to prevent comment spam. If the anti-spam comment function is activated, you will be reminded multiple times (text reminder, check box confirmation) before being able to comment. Your IP address will also be used to limit the frequency of comments to prevent overload for comments.

This website does not currently support automated comment deletion, but you can leave comments anonymously without your email or website address.

Remark

This privacy statement will be updated from time to time in an effort to make website operations more compliant with relevant norms and regulations.
